Virtual Volunteer Fair set for September

Virtual Volunteer Fair set for September

Last Updated on August 24, 2020

A press release from Cherwell District Council.

Calling residents of Cherwell who have been giving thought to volunteering or who already act in a voluntary capacity and are keen to learn what other opportunities might exist.

Volunteer Connect will be hosting Cherwell’s second Volunteer Fair event of 2020 – and it’ll all be online to keep people safe during the current pandemic.

Introduced by Keith Davies, Volunteer Manager for Citizens Advice North Oxon and South Northants (CANOSN) the virtual fair will help people find out more about volunteering in Cherwell.

Three live online webinars beginning on September 14 will focus on Banbury, Bicester, Kidlington and the surrounding areas.

Volunteer Connect will introduce themselves and help visitors to find out more about how to volunteer and where. This is great opportunity as a resident to further support the voluntary sector in Cherwell and find out more about the great services available. Volunteering can be great for your health, supports others and can help with a career change and supporting a CV.

The three webinars will stream at 12pm each day on Monday, September 14 (Kidlington), Wednesday September 16 (Bicester) and Friday September 18 (Banbury).

Registration is vital via: https://sites.google.com/cano.org.uk/cherwellvolunteerfair/home.

Organisations keen to be in involved in this virtual fair include CANOSN, The Sunshine Centre, Community Centres and many others. Opportunities may be available that fit with your time at the weekend, lunchbreak, day or evening.

Cherwell District Council works with Volunteer Connect and a network of partners to deliver a program of support to residents.
