Wards and Councillors

Your local Councillor is democratically elected to represent the people of the town on the Town Council. They are representative of the major political parties or are independent. They are not full-time paid officials and are only given a very small annual allowance. The Councillor's position is one of influence rather than power at Town Council level. However, they have a very important role in representing the interests, well-being and quality of life for the community of Bicester.

The Council has a duty to promote and maintain high standards of conduct by members and co-opted members of the Council, and formally adopt a code of conduct, in accordance with the Localism Act 2011.
