Bicester, set in the county of Oxfordshire has been a settlement for hundreds of years first documented in the Doomsday Survey of 1086, however there is significant evidence to suggest earlier settlement in the area.
Saxon armies were recorded as having a large battle on the outskirts of the town in 873AD and the old Saxon town of Bicester was destroyed by a Danish raid in 912AD.
On the town’s outskirts, RAF Bicester was built in 1917, followed later by military establishments and then by increasing numbers of small industrial units.
Bicester is well known for being home to Bicester Village, a Designer Outlet shopping center.
