Joint Statement from Bicester Town Council – Phil Evans, Acting Chief Officer and Mayor Cllr Nicholas Mawer:
“Bicester Town Council has been made aware of the planned sale by auction of recreation land on the Greenwood estate. We would like to reassure residents the town council is working closely with colleagues at Cherwell District Council to defend this green space, which includes a children’s play area, sport facilities and recreation land, to ensure it continues to be available for the community to enjoy for generations to come.
“Bicester Town Council can confirm when the land was developed in the 1980s conditions were placed on the amenity land by Cherwell District Council and we will be working to ensure these conditions are adhered to.
“In the meantime we will continue to work with residents on this issue as a matter of urgency.”
