This year there was no public Remembrance Service or Parade due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place. Instead, we were united in the Act of Remembrance online and via a socially distanced wreath laying ceremony.
Revd Canon Verena Breed hosted the service of remembrance, which was broadcasted live from St Edburg’s Church but with no-one in attendance. Civic and Military dignitaries took part in the service online via Zoom with the public invited to watch at home.
Readings were made by the Mayor’s Cadet Joe Ottaway, Lt Col Alex Atherton, the Commanding Officer of Bicester Garrison, and Miranda Markham the Oxfordshire Deputy Lieutenant.
The Exultation and Kohima was read by Brian Leach, the Bicester Branch Chairman of the Royal British Legion.
