Defibrillators have been installed in town council-run sport pavilions at Pingle Field and Bicester Fields this week, using £3,398 of approved funding. Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) can be used to provide assistance to anyone who is suffering from a cardiac arrest. This simple piece of equipment is easy to use and doesn’t require any training, if you see someone suffering from a cardiac arrest, ring 999 and ask for an ambulance. The ambulance call handler will guide you through how to perform CPR, and they will also tell you where your nearest defibrillator is. Visit British Heart Foundation www.bhf.org.uk to read more about how to use this equipment.
