A notice from High Speed Two (HS2) – the new high speed railway for Britain.
Following the earlier publication of an AWN covering the upcoming work at Finmere Bridge, please be advised that this demolition has been delayed and will not be taking place over the weekend 5th-8th March. Therefore, the A4421 will be open for traffic as normal this weekend.
We have had to do some additional investigation and further surveys must be undertaken to ensure the demolition is completed safely.
We will be using our contingency date, from 9.00pm on Saturday 13th March to 6.00am on Sunday 14th March to conduct these surveys. The A4421 will be closed during this time and traffic will be diverted, as it was for the closure in February. I have attached the updated AWN, with the dates and maps for your reference.
The demolition will be rescheduled and notice of the new dates will be published once confirmed.
We are continually reviewing the works on our construction sites in line with Government and Public Health England (PHE) advice on dealing with COVID-19. The Government’s current strategy makes it clear that construction activity can continue as long as it complies with this guidance. Please be assured that only sites that can operate within the guidelines are operational. All sites will remain under constant review. We have postponed all face-to-face engagement events and meetings and have put in place a number of channels to communicate with communities, such as letters and phone calls, as well as updates and alerts from each of the local community websites. You can sign up for regular updates in your local area at www.hs2inbucksandox.co.uk
