Last week Thames Valley Police launched the Hidden Harm campaign urging everyone to ‘open their eyes to abuse’.
Over the next 18 months they will be raising awareness of different types of abuse hidden in the heart of our communities in Thames Valley. The first focus of the campaign is modern slavery.
In the past two years TVP have recorded 120 modern slavery crimes across our area but it’s likely that many more go unreported.
With offences in every county of the force, it’s a stark reminder that this is a crime that could happen anywhere.
Throughout October we will be concentrating on raising awareness of this crime and the signs to look out for that could indicate that someone is a victim.
