DESCRIPTION:  \nBicester Food Festival has been postponed until 2022. \nIt comes after Bicester Town Council’s environment committee met last night and agreed to cancel this year’s event due to low numbers of traders taking part. \n———————————————————————————————————————————————————- \nA new event has been added to Bicester Town Council’s events calendar. The inaugural Bicester Food Festival will take place in Sheep Street on Sunday\, October 3\, 2021. There will be a host of food-based stalls\, food sampling and cookery demonstrations. Local food vendors are being urged to sign-up to take part. It is hoped this could become an annual event. \nIf you are a local food vendor who would like to be a part of this event please get in touch!  \nPitch prices are set at an introductory rate as £20.00 for a single 3×3 pitch and £35.00 for a double pitch. You would be invoiced prior to the event and we would require company food hygiene certificate\, risk assessment and insurance documents. \n			\n							Apply for a stall

DESCRIPTION:There will be no public Remembrance Service or Parade this year due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place.  \nPlans for Remembrance Sunday’s commemoration in Bicester have been changed following the Government’s lockdown announcement. \nThe service of remembrance will still be broadcast live from St Edburg’s Church but there will be no-one in attendance. \nInstead\, Civic and Military dignitaries will take part in the service online via Zoom. \nThere will be readings by the Mayor’s Cadet Joe Ottaway\, Lt Col Alex Atherton\, the Commanding Officer of Bicester Garrison\, and Miranda Markham the Oxfordshire Deputy Lieutenant. \nThe Exultation and Kohima will be read by Brian Leach\, the Bicester Branch Chairman of the Royal British Legion. \nResidents are being urged to watch the service online\, which starts at 10.45am\, and then at 11am stand on their doorstep or in their front gardens to mark two minutes’ silence. Afterwards the service will continue. \nMayor Cllr Jason Slaymaker said: “I would like to thank the church and town council staff for adapting the plans for Sunday so quickly. They have been able to rearrange the entire service with less than a week to go\, so we can ensure Bicester’s Service of Remembrance will still go ahead. \n“No-one expected this new lockdown would happen with such urgency\, but thankfully\, the virtual world means we can stay safe and all still take part in this important annual event. I would urge as many people as possible to join us online so we can together pay our respects to the service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.” \nResidents should view the details on this page for the zoom link and instructions on joining. \n				\n	A message from Revd Canon Verena Breed; ”Remembrance marks an important date in our nation’s life.” \n”We come together on this day in the presence of God to seek his blessing on our town\, to offer our thanksgiving for all that has been achieved in the past\, to pray for all who bear responsibility in our community today\, and to seek strength from God for faithful service in the years to come.” \n”This year we won’t be able to gather around our War Memorial or in Church.
