Bicester Town Council would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The offices at Garth Park will be closed from noon on Christmas Eve until Monday 5 January.
Thank you to all who entered the 2014 Santa Fun Run. It was hugely successful with winner Richard Gould finishing in an astonishingly short time for the second year running.
Bicester Town Council would especially like to thank all the volunteers who came out and helped with the marshalling and to all the community who supported and cheered the runners.
In addition, a big thank you to Evolve for sponsoring the medals and also to Tesco and Sainsbury’s for the refreshments.
The money raised will go to the Mayor’s charities which are the Soldiers Charity ABF and Bicester League of Friends with 50% to the sponsorship money raised going to the Hummingbird Centre.
The Bicester Lights Switch On 2014 was as festive as ever with crowds flocking to see the lights being switched on by the winners of the first ever Snowflake Competition. The winners were Ella Gibbons, aged 7 from Langford School, Dale Girling, 8 from King’s Meadow School and Alisha Jenkins, 5 from Southwold School. With stalls, a fair and music from Rejieli Paulo, Jamie Felton and some wonderful School choirs, the event was a huge success. To see some of the festive images click here for the gallery.
We know the toilets in Garth Park are dreadfull. We want to provide new ones, and also, while we are at it, provide a much needed café in the park too. So, we are now looking for Expressions of Interest to partner with us to design and build, or design, build and manage such a facility. For more information click here.
Following the extensive consultation undertaken by Bicester Town Council to pursue plans to design and build an eco café and toilets in Garth Park, we are now in a position to seek expressions of interest in this project.
