August 2010 will see Phase 1 begin with the start of the diversion of the Town Brook along the east side of Manorsfield Road onto the west side, with landscaping along the new river route. There will be a temporary access to Hunt Close to provide access onto Manorsfield Road at all times whilst works to install a culvert under Hunt Close are undertaken.

Eco Bicester – One Shared Vision Consultation

The Consultation Draft Eco Bicester vision has been prepared by the Eco Bicester Strategic Delivery Board to seek the views of the local community. It will guide the town as it grows as a low-carbon community and sets out the aims and aspirations for the future development of the town as a whole. In summary, the vision is for Bicester to be a vibrant place where people can lead sustainable lifestyles, attracting inward investment to provide local jobs (including green technologies) offering sustainable transport choices and ensuring environmental sustainability.

As part of the preparation of a shared vision for Bicester a public consultation will take place between Monday 23rd August and Friday, 1st October 2010 with publicity in the local press and a consultation event in Bicester town centre. The consultation will provide an opportunity to share the vision more widely and engage with the local community though working actively with local residents and businesses to shape the development of the town.

The Draft document will be available for inspection in Cherwell District Council offices including the One Stop Shop in Bicester Market Square and local libraries.

In order to seek your views, whether as local resident or stakeholders, an online consultation has been set up and is available on the Consultation Portal. For more information go to the eco towns page of the Cherwell District Council website at www.cherwell.gov.uk/ecotowns.
